Centre Category: Scout Centre
The Low Wood Scout Activity Centre is located in the Aire Valley and is a prime location set in over 81 acres of both woodland and wide open spaces. It is situated next to the Leeds to Liverpool canal. The site has a large number of camping areas (of various sizes), ideal for long or short stays and overnight stopping points for those undertaking their Duke of Edinburgh expeditions. We offer a large range of on-site activities, there is something for everyone.
The main building has toilet and shower facilities and a fully fitted kitchen area. Sleeping is available in the main hall.
The centre is well placed as a base for excursions. Nearby is East Riddlesden Hall (National Trust), Haworth and the Bronte Parsonage, the Worth Valley Railway, Skipton Castle, Ilkley Moor, Low Wood Nature Reserve and much more.
There is a great deal of wildlife, flora and fauna to be found at Low Wood. It is an ideal place to learn about the countryside and work towards conservation based badges. You might see roe deer, blackcap, great spotted woodpecker, tawny owl, treecreeper and nuthatch. Bats also make Low Wood area their home.No Records Found
