  • The site consists of approximately 30 acres of woodlands, clearings and fields in the River Hamble Country Park, which extends for a further 400 acres. Many forms of shrubs, plants, mature trees and wildlife abound in the park, which is now classed as a site of special scientific interest (SSSI).

The campsite is situated on the Eastern outskirts of Southampton in Pylands Lane (off Dodwell Lane) about one mile from the junction of the A27 and approximately half-a-mile from Junction 8 on the M27.

    Facilities:

    Indoor Accommodation
Pauline's Lodge, which was erected in 1981, is traditionally built with a country theme in a beautiful woodland setting. The centre is centrally heated throughout with the dorms, kitchen, hall, toilets and showers on the first first floor level. On the ground floor level is the TRACS (computer suite/meeting room), tuck shop, activity area and campsite crew facilities.

The lodge provides accommodation for up to 38 in four dormitories plus two separate leaders' rooms of 5 beds each. A total of 48 beds in the lodge.

The main hall (35'x 40') provides a good area for recreation activities and includes a quiet area. There is a built in ceiling projector and screen for presentations/training events.

There is a large fully equipped kitchen and wash up area with sinks, cooker, fridge, freezer, dishwasher etc. There is cutlery, crockery, and cooking utensils for fifty. The centre has wash basins, toilets and showers.

The accommodation is not suitable for wheel chair users.

    Campsite
We have 7 designated camping areas on site, ideal for group/section/patrol camps. There are toilets and shower facilities (free) for campers, as well as a chemical toilet disposal point and access to a fridge & freezer . The site also has a campsire circle which can be booked along with a range of onsite activities. The campsite is not suitable for wheel chair users.
